As Deputy Director of JVS SoCal Veteran Services, John Gutierrez leads the Veterans America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) service delivery program for Los Angeles County and several other programs that promote the hiring of veterans. He also serves as chair for the San Gabriel Valley Veteran Employment Committee (SGV VEC).
Gutierrez has over 15 years of military leadership experience serving in the U.S Marine Corps. During this time, he served as a Super Stallion Helicopter Engine Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Director of Recruiting Operations, Director of Workforce Recruiting Compliance for Marine Corps Recruiting Orange County. Gutierrez transitioned from military service in 2015 and joined a non-profit organization as the program manager for workforce Veteran initiatives.
Gutierrez currently attends the University of La Verne where he is pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree. John will be a part of the Veteran community here in Idaho as well as a part of the department’s PTSD training team. John will be heading the Veteran program for new police officers in the state of Idaho, going into the police academy. Veterans would receive $200 – $400 to buy equipment needed in the academy.
